WPT Canada Kicks Off in British Columbia

The World Poker Tour Canada kicked off yesterday with the start of the Coast to Coast Poker Championships in Richmond, British Columbia.
The tournament, held at the River Rock Casino Resort, features seven poker tournaments over nine days, including the CAD$3,000 buy-in main event beginning on May 9th with the final table set for May 11th.
Amongst the entries expected for the first event of the WPT Canada season are Gavin Smith, Antonio Esfandiari, and Brad Booth. WPT Canada is an extension of the main World Poker Tour recently concluded last month and won by David Chiu.
Steve Lipscomb, WPT Founder, President and CEO said: "Canada is an incredible destination for poker, which we have experienced first-hand during three successful Canadian events on the main WPT tour."
The tournament will be televised and broadcast on Canadian television later this year.

Event 2, May 6th 2008 - $220 Super Satellite
Event 3, May 7th/8th 2008 (Final table May 11th 2008) - $1,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em with Bounties
Event 4, May 9th/10th 2008 (Final table May 11th 2008) - $3,000 No Limit Texas Hold’em Main Event
Event 5, May 11th 2008 - $200 Mother’s Day No Limit Texas
Event 6, May 12th 2008 - $300 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha
Event 7, May 13th 2008 - $300 No Limit Texas Hold’em
