Scott Seiver Dominates Final Table To Win First WSOP Event
June 14th, 2008
Scott Seiver has outlasted a total of 731 players to win the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Event 21, claiming his first ever WSOP victory. With a total prize pool of over $3.4 million, Scott Seiver takes home $755,891 for his first place finish.
Entering the final table as chip leader, Scott Seiver immediately showcased his dominance of the table eliminating Scott Freeman with pocket queens against Freeman’s A K. Next Adam Geyer’s pocket nines were all-in against Dave Seidman’s pocket aces, the aces holding out to knock Geyer out in 8th place.
Anders Henriksson was next to leave the table, his triple nines unluckily topped by Ben Springers’ triple aces. The ace on the river sealing his fate. Scott Seiver then saw off Chuck Sklar, before Rajesh Vohra was eliminated by Dave Seidman’s pair of kings.
Jacobo Fernandez was then beaten by Seiver’s two pair of aces and nines, and once Ben Sprengers was out in 3rd place, it left heads-up play between Dave Seidman and Scott Seiver.
It was to be Scott Seiver’s day though as he completed his domination of the final table. In the end it was Seiver’s pair of nines that held on to beat Seidman’s sevens, giving Scott Seiver his first golden bracelet and a top prize of $755,891.
