June 18th, 2008
An agreement has been reached between entertainment distributor MoboVivo and media company HeadsUp Entertainment to allow all thirteen episodes of the Canadian Championship Poker season to be streamed and downloaded over the Internet.
MoboVivo is the first company to offer pay-for downloads of TV shows in Canada. It also offers services to iPhone users. All 13 episodes of Canadian Championship Poker season will be available from the MoboVivo website.
Episodes of the Canadian Poker Tour will also be made available following the announcement last week that HeadsUp Entertainment had acquired the Canadian Poker Tour and its TV shows.
Kelly Kellner, CEO of HeadsUp Entertainment said: "Poker in Canada is hot and tournaments like the Canadian Championship Poker and the Canadian Poker Tour features great players like Brad Booth, Huck Seed and stars like Jennifer Tilly. Now their fans can watch them anytime and anywhere thanks to MoboVivo’s online video platform."
Trevor Doerksen, CEO of MoboVivo said: "MoboVivo customers have been asking for programming like this. They want to take it with them, watch it online and catch up to TV shows they missed or watch without commercials."
