Max Pescatori Wins Second WSOP Bracelet
June 16th, 2008
Italian poker pro Max Pescatori has captured his second WSOP bracelet following his victory in the $2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha Event #24. A total of 457 players took part in the event creating a total prize pool of over $1 million. For his first place finish Max Pescatori wins $246,471.
At the start of the final table Kyle Kloeckner held a narrow chip lead over Allen Cunningham:
Seat 1 - Max Pescatori - 212,000
Seat 2 - Jonathan Depa - 185,000
Seat 3 - Kyle Hegeman - 198,000
Seat 4 - Kyle Kloeckner - 494,000
Seat 5 - John Paul Kelly - 79,000
Seat 6 - Greg Hurst - 197,000
Seat 7 - Lennart Holtkamp - 253,000
Seat 8 - Minh Ly - 174,000
Seat 9 - Allen Cunningham - 484,000
Straight away the poker action got hot, John Paul Kelly moving all-in on his short stack of chips, but falling to Kyle Kloeckner’s aces. Minh Ly, with a fourth place finish already in this year’s WSOP, was next to go, while Lennart Holtkamp lasted a little while longer before finally succumbing to Pescatori’s triple kings.
Jonathan Depa was then eliminated by Pescatori, followed by Kyle Hegeman to leave only four players left. Five-time WSOP bracelet winner Allen Cunningham was out next, Kyle Kloeckner’s aces doing the damage, and once Greg Hurst was out, heads-up play began between Kloeckner and Pescatori.
Max Pescatori had the chip lead and began to make moves to eliminate Kloeckner. Finally Kloeckner went all-in with two pairs of jacks and threes, but it was not to be his night as Pescatori’s turned over kings and jacks to give him victory and another WSOP bracelet to go with his previous bracelet won back in 2006.
Final Standings:
