Marty Smyth has won his first ever WSOP bracelet following his heads-up victory over Peter Jetten in the $10,000 World Championship Pot Limit Omaha Event #50. A total of 381 entrants in the event created a total prize pool of over $3.5 million, with Marty Smith collecting $859,532 for his win.

At the start of the final table the chip leader was Michael Mizrachi, brother of Robert who won this event last year, ahead of Brandon Moran and Kido Pham:

Seat 1 - Kido Pham - 1,080,000
Seat 2 - Brandon Moran - 1,286,000
Seat 3 - Peter Jetten - 492,000
Seat 4 - Michael Mizrachi - 1,767,000
Seat 5 - Billy Argyrous - 729,000
Seat 6 - Greg Hurst - 637,000
Seat 7 - Tom Hanlon - 192,000
Seat 8 - Marty Smyth - 1,068,000
Seat 9 - Richard Harroch - 372,000

Greg Hurst was first to be eliminated, Michael Mizrachi’s flopped straight doing the damage. Mizrachi then saw off Brandon Moran with a full house of aces and fours, before knocking out Tom Hanlon with two pairs of jacks and sixes and then Kido Pham with triple tens.

Richard Harroch was then bested by Marty Smyth’s quad fours, followed soon after by Billy Argyros who fell to Mizrachi’s straight. That left just three players left standing. Mizrachi was then finally undone by Peter Jetten’s pocket aces to leave heads-up between Jetten and Smyth.

It all came down to a grandstand finish. Jetten moved all in and Smyth had him covered. As the flop came down both players held a king high straight. However Smyth still had a chance for a straight flush of clubs. The turn card bricked, while the river card was a club. It didn’t complete the straight flush but it did give Smyth a flush and bested Jetten’s straight to give him the WSOP title and eagerly awaited golden bracelet.
