International Fighting Championship Celebrity Poker Tournament Set for May

The International Fighting Championships (IFC) is to host a celebrity poker tournament in Las Vegas at the end of May.
The International Fighting Championships Celebrity Poker Tournament will take place in the Mardi Gras Ball Room at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 25th, with a host of celebrities and fighters taking part in the event with cash prizes available to the top 25 finishers. The winner will receive a $10,000 seat to the WSOP main event in June.
The IFC was formed in 2007 and is renown for its live mixed martial arts show with live events shown all over North America - 10 shows are scheduled in 2008 and a further 12 shows are planned for 2009. CBS’ 60 minute report recently named the IFC as one of the ‘hottest emerging, fastest growing sports in the US’. Las Vegas, California and New Jersey are the most popular markets for mixed martial arts shows in the US.
Some of those taking part in the $250 buy-in event include actors Ice Cube, Vin Diesel, and Steve Baldwin, while celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck will also be joining in with a plethora of star fighters, including Shonie Carter, Jake Shields, Kevin Randleman, Josh Haynes, and martial arts star Jason David Frank.
