Michael Schulze of Germany Wins EPT Polish Open

Michael Schulze took home the European Poker Tour Polish Open title at the weekend, after a lengthy heads-up battle with Ricardo Sousa. At the start of the final day’s play, Schulze held the chip lead with Sousa back in second after both players dominated play on Day 3.
At the final table, Daniel Woolson was first to go out followed by Trond Eidsvig, who set two records during the tournament in making four cashes and three final tables in a single EPT season. Niclas Svensson was next to be eliminated, followed by Juan Maceiras, Christian Oman, Mehdi Ouakhir, and Mathias Viberg.
After 2 hours of heads-up play, Schulze finally defeated Sousa for the EPT Polish Open championship and the $946,269 first prize.
