Farzad Rouhani Wins 2008 WSOP Event 10

The 10th event of this year’s World Series of Poker saw 388 poker enthusiasts take to the Las Vegas tables for the $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Freezeout event. After 3 days of play it was Farzad Rouhani who was the last man standing, taking home $232,911 in winnings and his maiden WSOP bracelet.

The 388 entrants on Day 1 battled until the early hours with only 108 players making it through to the next round. Some of those not surviving the day included Chris Ferguson, Michael Binger, Gavin Griffin, Jennifer Harman, and Max Pescatori.

Jordan Rich took the chip lead into Day 2 closely followed by Daniel Mowczan and Farzad Rouhani, but only eight players would make it though to the final table. Those falling by the wayside included Brandon Cantu, Allen Cunningham, Greg Raymer and Steve Zolotow.

Michael Mizrachi - 231,000

Daniel Mowczan - 122,000

At the final table Michael Mizrachi was first out, followed by Daniel Mowczan and John Racener. Greg Pappas was then eliminated in 5th place, soon followed by Yueqi Zhu and John Cernuto to leave heads-up between Rouhani and Tom Chambers. Farzad Rouhani went on to win the event shortly afterwards.

He takes home his first WSOP title and a golden bracelet to go with his well deserved winner’s cheque.
