Davidi Kitai Wins 2008 WSOP Event 38

Davidi Kitai has won the 2008 WSOP $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em Event #38 after a long heads-up play against Chris Bell. He overcame a field of 605 players to win his first bracelet and collect the $244,546 first place prize.
Germany’s Jan von Halle led the way at the start of the final table with Lee Watkinson and Robert Cheung in hot pursuit.

Michael Greco, one time star of British TV soap EastEnders, was first out with his pocket kings falling to Chris Bell’s pocket aces. Ben Roberts then fell to Robert Cheung’s pair of jacks, followed by Ayaz Mahmood soon after.
Robert Cheung, with one previous WSOP bracelet to his name, then got bested by Chris Bell’s straight on the river, while previous bracelet winner Lee Watkinson could only manage 5th place. Jan von Halle’s elimination soon followed by Keith Greer left heads-up play between Bell and Kitai.
After a lengthy heads-up match up, Davidi Kitai finally got Chris Bell all-in and won the hand on an ace queen high card. Chris Bell’s consolation is $155,806 for second place.
