2008 WSOP $10,000 World Championship Main Event - Day1b Update

As the 2008 WSOP $10,000 World Championship Main Event continued into day 1b, a further 1,158 players entered the fray with hopes of getting their hands on the elusive and prestigious WSOP bracelet on offer.

Amongst those in action at the start of the day included Thor Hansen, Erick Lindgren, former main event champions Greg Raymer and Jamie Gold, Lee Watkinson, Australian cricket legend Shane Warne, and former MLB pitcher Orel Hershiser.

Those not making it through the day included Greg Raymer, whose two pair was bested by Kai Are Hauge’s higher two pair. Ram Vaswani was knocked out by Neil Channing’s triple aces, while Thor Hansen knocked out Eric Koskas with an ace high flush. Jamie Gold also got knocked out, as well as Marc Goodwin. Also out were Ted Forrest, Daniel Negreanu, David Bach, and Jacobo Fernandez.

By the end of Day 1b’s play only 615 players remained who will join up with Day 1a’s 636 survivors for a place in Day 2. Two more Day 1 sessions remain to be played.
